Boats on water with palm tree

Breaking from the Ordinary

A couple years ago my husband and I were married for 10 years with a loose plan to go to Mexico to celebrate. Before we could even start pulling the idea together, a little thing called COVID happened. Well, 2023 was the year my husband made the trip a reality by planning everything from the hotel to child care. He outdid himself!

He may have even ordered perfect weather because it was 80 degrees and sunny in February making it paradise compared to cold and cloudy Pennsylvania. But when you add in some pretty cool activities, like a trip to the Xenotes Rivera Maya and napping in a poolside cabana, a trip really becomes a vacation. The nap was great but the Xenotes tour was a 10/10 experience....and the drinks and food in Puerto Morelos were not half bad either!

I loved our week away to recharge but, sometimes that reminds you just how boring and quiet the trip was without kids. We missed those little munchkins; next time we will just take the kids too. Who needs quiet and rest, anyway?
